Reiki

Reiki (Ray-key) means ‘universal life energy’ and is an ancient form of Japanese healing using the laying on of hands to help restore the natural balance of energy within the body.
The Usui method was introduced in the late 1800s by a Japanese man called Mikao Usui who then trained others and it was introduced to the west in the 1940s.
What makes Reiki different from other hands on healing is that the practitioners are ‘attuned’. The attunement can only be carried out by a Reiki master and symbols are placed in the psyche. Once the symbols are placed you have Reiki energy for the rest of your life whether you use it or not. If you are using the energy it will flow as soon as you think about Reiki.
There are 3 levels of Reiki:
Level 1 – is for self-healing and can work on others that are physically present.
Level 2 – adds power to the healing ability, and distant healing can be carried out.
Level 3/Masters level – increases healing power again, those with teaching included can now carry out attunements on others.
During a Reiki session the person remains fully clothed and is positioned to encourage full relaxation. It is such a gentle treatment that anyone can receive a session including babies, pregnant women and the frail or ill.
Reiki level 1 and 2 training also available, please contact for details.
